Fujian TCM & Chinese Medical Hall

Fujian TCM & Chinese Medical Hall is helmed by Physician Chen Yong Hong, who specialises in treating skin-related illnesses. She shared that students from NUS often visit the shop to purchase herbal tea, particularly the Honey Jelly Tea, which is known for its soothing effects on the throat. While many youths today might not pursue a career in Traditional Chinese Medicine due to the long work hours and perceived lack of career progression, there is still a widespread belief in its health benefits. Despite these challenges, Physician Chen remains steadfast in her practice, serving as a constant presence in the ever-changing landscape of the Clementi neighbourhood.

Fong's Dee Special Chicken Curry Puff

Fong's Dee Special Chicken Curry Puff, located in the Clementi 448 Hawker Centre, has been a local favourite for over four decades. The stall is owned and operated by Ah De, who took over the business from his parents in the 1990s. The stall was originally founded in 1980 by Ah De's parents, establishing a legacy of delicious curry puffs in the Clementi area. Demonstrating remarkable dedication, Ah De and his wife arrive at the stall every morning at 4:30 am, rain or shine, to prepare their renowned curry puffs. Using a recipe that has been passed down over the generations he prepares the curry puffs the same way his father had done in the past. As a first-generation hawker, Ah De plays an irreplaceable role in preserving and enriching Singapore's hawker culture.

Little Myanmar

Located in Block 328 Clementi Avenue 2, Little Myanmar's owner Kyaw Kyaw Lin, affectionately known as Lin to his customers, arrived in Singapore in the early 2000s to pursue a career in engineering. After exploring various career paths, he ultimately decided to become a hawker, driven by his desire to raise awareness of Burmese culture through food. Lin takes great pride in introducing authentic home-cooked Burmese cuisine to his customers, whom he treats as family. One of the popular dishes at Little Myanmar is the Pickle Tea Salad, a unique sour dish made of tea leaves and beans. This distinctive offering adds a new dimension to the flavour profile typically found in local hawker food. With his extroverted personality, Lin has cemented Little Myanmar in Clementi's local community and its diversity. His stall not only contributes to the area's culinary diversity but also serves as a cultural bridge, introducing Singaporeans to the tastes and traditions of Myanmar.

Waffletown

Waffletown Singapore has a rich 40-year history that began in Bukit Timah's Balmoral Plaza. Owner Mr. Eugene Sung's journey is marked by resilience, facing challenges such as relocation and high post-COVID rental costs. Despite these obstacles, he successfully moved Waffletown to its current location in NEWest at West Coast Drive in 2021. Throughout the years, the establishment's signature fried chicken and waffles have remained a beloved staple for customers of all ages. Mr. Sung hopes that its current location will be Waffletown's permanent home, allowing him to continue serving the community and preserving this cherished dining institution in Singapore's evolving culinary landscape.

Clementi Aquarium Shops

What began with a single fish aquarium shop in Block 328, Clementi Avenue 2 has shaped into a thriving row of five specialized stores, attracting customers from across Singapore. Despite their proximity, each store has carved out its own niche, offering signature products and catering to diverse aquatic pet needs. This unique cluster showcases a variety of specialties through their distinctive storefronts, providing a comprehensive selection for both seasoned aquarium enthusiasts and newcomers looking to find their perfect pet fish.
