Step into the rich history of Ayer Rajah with 'My Ayer Rajah Heritage Tour', where you'll journey through time, from the tranquil Malay kampongs and prawn farms nestled in Ayer Rajah's swamps to the vibrant modern communities that emerged after the damming of Sungei Pandan in the 1970s. Explore the streets that still bear the names of the old kampongs and immerse yourself in the bustling energy of Ayer Rajah Food Centre. Whether you're a history enthusiast, or a lover of cultural exploration, this tour promises an engaging experience that will deepen your connection to Ayer Rajah's captivating heritage. 

My Ayer Rajah Heritage Tour by My Community is commissioned by Heartland Enterprise Centre of Singapore (HECS), as part of efforts to rejuvenate neighbourhood town centres and grow heartland business.

Duration & Meeting Point

This tour is approximately 2.5 hours and will be conducted in English. The tour will proceed rain or shine and will end at Pandan Reservoir.

Participants are encouraged to arrive fifteen minutes prior to the start of the programme at the 'Our Clementi Home' Heritage Village at Clementi Town Centre (in front of Info Counter).

What to bring and wear?

As the tour will enter places of worship, participants of the tour should wear respectful attire. 

Participants are encouraged to bring along hand sanitiser, insect repellent, EZ-Link card, a bottle of water, an umbrella and earphones with a standard 3.5mm audio jack. Asthmatic individuals are reminded to bring their inhaler.

My Community

My Community is a non-profit organisation which documents social memories, celebrates civic life and inspires greater community involvement in our shared heritage. Together with community stakeholders and agencies, they strive to preserve the common people story for our collective memory. They manage community museums and organise neighbourhood tours and festivals to transform social spaces and ageing neighbourhoods.

Important Notes for Participants

Participants will be invited to consume food along the tour, which are non-vegetarian and may not be halal certified. The dishes may contain nuts, fish, shellfish, alcohol, and other allergens.

All ticket sales are final and no refunds are allowed. Each ticket admits only one participant.

By registering for this programme, participants agree: 
a) that every participant will be responsible for any injury, loss of damage due to careIessness of other actions on his/her part or that of children under his/her charge;
b) that a parent/guardian is required to accompany any child of or under the age of 12;
c) that the programme organiser(s) may take photographs and/or videos of them (or their child as applicable) and use the images and/or videos including to archive, exhibit and publish them for publicity; and 
d) for the programme organiser(s) to contact them regarding the programme that they have signed up for, as well as other communication that may be of interest to them.
