Good documentation has been recognized among museums, art communities, and academia as an essential component for the preservation of video, media and even installation art forms.
These documents or records usually exist in many formats such as paper, digital text, image and moving images just to name a few.
Such documentation acts as persistent evidence that might likely outlast the art itself. While there is no lack of initiative on how best to manage such myriad documents or records of complex artworks, Registrar, Low Jyue Tyan presented a practical and employable solution in preserving digital video, media, and complex installation artworks at the CIDOC 2012 conference.
