Description

This Call for Collaboration project is supported by Katong Culture and part of the Heritage Activation Nodes initiative.

Hear hidden stories of Katong-Joo Chiat and tell your own! Using collage techniques, we invite participants to record their memories of Katong-Joo Chiat with your own bookmark craft. Participants will then experience a sharing of personal Katong-Joo Chiat histories gathered over the past three months, inspired by local literature – A Penniless Boy, Chew Joo Chiat (written by Philip Chew, great grandson of Chew Joo Chiat) and dakota (written by Wong Koi Tet, recently translated into English by Shanna Tan). Come and be part of our community's living history!

Bookmark collage-making is scheduled between 12pm to 2.45pm at 30-min intervals, while the sharing session will last from 3pm to 4pm.

This event is suitable for ages 4 and above, with no prior artistic experience required.

Registration closes on 14 February 2025 or when capacity is reached. For enquiries, email collectivememoryprojects@gmail.com.
