Looms are devices used to hold warp threads under tension to facilitate the interweaving of weft threads to create cloth and tapestry. Different types of looms enable weavers to achieve different complexity of fabric. At this drop-in station, the weaving of two types of fabric, plain weave fabric and twill weave fabric, will be demonstrated on two different looms. Visitors will also have the opportunity to try weaving these fabrics under the guidance of facilitators from Craft Atelier. The activity is beginner friendly and appropriate for most ages.
