Discover the colourful world of Batik and Kebaya at the Eurasian Heritage Gallery! Join Hafiz Rashid, an avid collector of ethnic fabrics, for an engaging storytelling session and guided tour. Learn about the rich history and cultural significance of these traditional textiles as you explore the gallery's fascinating exhibits. To end off the programme, unleash your creativity in a hands-on craft activity where you'll colour your very own batik design postcard and enjoy a piece of sugee cake.

This programme features storytelling suitable for all ages, particularly families with children aged 5 and above.

Ticket price: $5.00 per pax

Important Notes for Participants

Kindly note that no refund or exchange of tickets is allowed under any circumstance except for programme cancellation. Participants are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the programme for registration. The programme will begin on time.

Participants are encouraged to bring a jacket as the venue may be cold.

Parents/guardians must accompany any child under the age of 12, and must buy their own ticket if so. 

Participants will each receive a piece of sugee cake. Please note that the cake is halal but not vegetarian.

By registering for this programme, participants agree:

a) that the personal information supplied will be strictly used for the purposes stated above;

b) that the programme organiser(s) may take photographs and/or videos of them (or their child as applicable) and use the images and/or videos including to archive, exhibit and publish them for publicity or any other purposes; and

c) for the programme organiser(s) to contact them regarding the programme that they have signed up for, as well as other communication that may be of interest to them.

 

ABOUT THE EURASIAN ASSOCIATION

The Eurasian Association (EA) was formed in 1919 as a voice for the community. As a Self-Help Group since 1994, EA assists the needy through education bursaries and family support services. Nestled within the Eurasian Community House since 2003, the Eurasian Heritage Gallery underwent a revamp in 2019. Today, the Gallery showcases over 400 images, 130 artefacts and 10 multimedia displays, which share the origins, contributions, culture and lifestyle of the small but vibrant Eurasian community.
