Capture a memorable scene or hidden gem in Clementi and stand a chance to win attractive prizes sponsored by Canon. Winning entries could be featured on the Heritage Wall of Clementi Public Library! 

 

The “Sights and Secrets of Clementi” photography competition is organised by SUSS Production Interest Group (PDIG) under the Heritage Activation Node @ Clementi Launch Festival. 

Details

How to Participate: 

Submit a maximum of three pictures taken from 2020 onwards, accompanied by their stories within 30 words each.

The competition submission form will be available from 1 August to 23 August.


Submission Period: 

Open for entry from 00:01 hours (Singapore Time) on 1 August 2024 to 23:59 hours (Singapore Time) on 23 August 2024.

Participants may only enter one category and submit up to three photographs in one form entry. 


Specifications: 

- Photographs should be taken from 2020 onwards

- 72DPI

- 2040px on the long edge

- Not exceeding 5 MB in file size

Important Notes for Participants

The competition is free to enter. Any entry submitted before the submission period or after the close of the submission period shall be void. Do note that only one form entry (maximum of three photographs) will be accepted per participant and should multiple form entries be submitted, only the first will be considered. Please prepare all photographs and accompanying stories before filling the form.


The completion and validity of the particulars of each entry, as well as competition prizes, shall be determined at the programme organiser(s)’ sole discretion. This competition is solely skill based and chance plays no part in determining the winners. All entries will be judged individually on their merits as chosen by the programme organiser(s). 


By participating in this programme, participants agree that:

A. Participants

  1. they are currently residing in Singapore;

  2. if they are below the age of 18, they have parental/guardian permission to participate;

B. Submissions

  1. they can submit a maximum of three photograph(s), beyond which additional photographs will not be considered;

  2. the submission(s) must be original photograph(s) captured by the participant that do not infringe intellectual property rights of any third party, and any artworks and/or graphic illustrations will not be accepted;

  3. the submission(s) must not have previously won or be submitted for any professional awards/prizes and/or be used previously in any marketing and advertising campaigns; 

  4. the submission(s) are not digitally manipulated except for colour correction and filters;

  5. that the programme organiser(s) reserve the right to modify the submissions and accompanying stories as necessary, including but not limited to resizing, cropping or colour adjustment, while maintaining their integrity as originally created;

C. Communications 

  1. the personal information supplied will be strictly used for the purposes of the competition;

  2. for the programme organiser(s) to contact them regarding the competition, as well as other communication that may be of interest to them;

D. Publicity and Display

  1. that the programme organiser(s)’ decisions as to any matter relating to the competition, will be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into about the competition or the programme organiser(s)’ decisions;

  2. to the use of their name and/or likeness, without compensation, by the programme organiser(s)’, for the purpose of the competition and prizes;

  3. that if their photograph is a winning photograph, to allow the programme organiser(s) to feature it on the Heritage Wall at Clementi Public Library with acknowledgement of the participant;

  4. otherwise, to allow the programme organiser(s) to use their photographs, including in all relevant promotional and/or non-commercial materials, where permission will be sought from the participant. 

E. Miscellaneous

  1. to indemnify and keep indemnified, and hold harmless, the programme organiser(s) from and against any and all claims, loss, damage or liability suffered and fees and costs incurred, resulting from any act, neglect or default or breach by the participant; and 

  2. in the event of any dispute arising or relating to the competition, the programme organiser(s) agree to use best endeavours to resolve the dispute promptly and amicably, by good faith negotiation.
