Chair from Lim Nee Soon's office

Lim Nee Soon was born in Singapore in 1879. He was an influential Chinese businessman, political activist and community leader. He made most of his fortune from his rubber and pineapple businesses. A highly accomplished man, some of his achievements include being the co-founder and director of several banking and financial institutions, president of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce, co-founder of Chinese High School and his appointment as a justice of the peace. He married his wife, Wi Pek Hay in 1901 and together they had nine children. Lim passed away in Shanghai, China in 1936.
