Indian Movie News is a bilingual magazine in English and Tamil featuring film synopses, interviews with film stars, industry news, short stories and letters from readers. It illustrates the tastes and reception of both Hindi (Bollywood) and Tamil films in Singapore. From the 1950s to the 1970s, Indian films were often screened to full houses in Singapore with moviegoers from all ethnicities and there were certain cinemas that specialised in screening Indian films. The magazine was first published by the Shaw Brothers alongside Movie News (English), Southern Star (Chinese) and Majallah Filem (Malay) as a means of publicising their movies to filmgoers.
