This is a Motorola pager with a numeric display. Numeric pagers could receive and display a caller’s number or a numeric message. Pagers were an important means of communication in the 1980s, prior to the wider use of mobile phones, and allowed users to communicate while on the go, whether for work or personal purposes. This pager bears the logo of Telecoms, which was a key telecommunications service provider in Singapore.The donor Ismail Yusoff purchased this pager in the mid-1980s. He used the pager mainly for his work at Times Printers, where he often had to communicate with his team while on the go.
