This series of magazines is one of the earliest Chinese radio magazines published in Singapore by Nanyang Siang Pau Press. As the company expanded its business, it started to produce the magazine in 1950. While the Nanyang Siang Pau wrote mainly about current affairs, the radio magazines covered more lifestyle and entertainment content. . The early issues of the magazines were printed in black and white but following the footsteps of other magazines like Rediffusion’s chinese language magazines, they transitioned to coloured print. The magazine provided various content for its readers, ranging from advertisements to science articles, musical scores, and even language lessons. The radio magazine also printed the content and schedule of Radio Malaya’s weekly program. Furthermore, the last few pages of the magazine would include photographs of pin-up models clad in the latest fashion trends. Initially, the 24-page magazine was sold at $0.20 each when it went on sale in December 1950. The weekly magazine had over 600 issues in total, but, before it ceased publication in 1963.
