This bright red fold-over clutch bag paired with denim jumpsuit alludes to outfits worn by Samsui women who arrived in Singapore in the early 20th century. These Chinese female migrants from Sanshui district, Guangdong province, were known for their navy samfoo (blouse and matching trousers) and iconic red headgear, which protected them from the sun and was also a safety measure at the construction sites where most of them worked. Adelyn Putri’s collection envisions how these strong women might dress today and honours their contributions to Singapore's early development. Adelyn Putri founded Nude Femme after more than a decade of experience working in fashion retail and merchandising. Nude Femme believes in engaging regional studios and suppliers that maintain strict compliance to fair social and business practices, in keeping with her philosophy of mindful harmony between people, nature, and society. The firm has participated in Singapore Fashion Week 2016 and Digital Fashion Week Jakarta 2017 since its founding in 2016.
