Inscribed with "豐興山" and "TKS", this boundary marker was found in what is today Dover Forest in Ulu Pandan, Singapore. It was probably used to define the perimeter of the lands owned by Peranakan businessman, philanthropist, and community leader Tan Kim Seng (1806–1864) and his family. 豐興 (丰兴) – Hong Hin was the name of the company established by Tan Kim Seng’s grandfather Tan Sin Liew (1737–1784) in Malacca in 1757. Tan Kim Seng continued the family business, which was known as Kim Seng & Company to the British, when he came to Singapore.
