This pair of lion sculptures originally belonged to the grave of Mr Ong Chin Huat who passed away on 3 February 1959. Mr Ong's grave was one of over 3,700 graves that were exhumed between 2013 and 2014 for the construction of a new road through Bukit Brown Cemetery. They were originally placed at different intersections of the angular tomb arms that extended from each side of the tomb. The male lion is depicted with a ball under his paw while the female is portrayed with a cub. In addition to the lion sculptures, there were also a pair of figures depicting Golden Boy and Jade Maiden (金铜玉女) decorating the tomb arms.
