From 2 June 2020, MOE began a staggered approach to bringing students back into schools after a period of home-based learning during the circuit breaker. In Catholic High School, Year 3 IP history students were encouraged to view their current experiences of Covid-19 as part of history. They were encouraged to think of an object that tells the story of their experience in this period. "This mask is donated by Liau En Xian, who recalls: This object is part of a D.I.Y. project my mum embarked on to fight Covid-19. After seeing something similar being made on the internet, my mum decided to make few of these for her friends and family. It is mainly used to help us press lift buttons so that we do not need to touch it with our fingers, which is dangerous during such times since it is something frequently touched by others. It works by using the metal part to press the lift buttons, then using the lighter to burn the metal part so that all the germs on it are killed. This object may not be the most practical or safe thing to carry around with us, but it really symbolises how even during such times when we need to stay socially distanced, people are coming together to fight this virus together."
