Letter from Raffles to Sir Joseph Banks, Buitenzorg, Java

Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles established a British East India Company trading factory in Singapore in 1819. This letter was written in 1815 when Raffles was Lieutenant-Governor of Java. In it, he writes to Sir Joseph Banks, President of the Royal Society, informing Banks that his surgeon and botanist Dr Joseph Arnold was on his way to London with some botanical specimens for Banks' collection.
