The China Sea Pilot was an important navigational guide published by the Hydrographic Office in London. These first two volumes covered directions for travel around the Malay archipelago, and are accompanied by a supplementary pamphlet titled "Notices to Mariners issued during 1916 relating to the China Sea Pilot, Vol. 1". Included in these volumes are maps and coastal profiles.
