This certificate was issued to Leong Choy Wah, who received her Diploma in Education after completing her training at the School of Education, which was established at the University of Malaya in 1950 to train gradates to teach on a full-time basis. Leong had received her Bachelor of Arts degree at the university two years earlier, having majored in English. She went on to teach for the rest of her career until she retired. She taught English and Geography at the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ) at Victoria Street, known as CHIJMES today.
