This camera belonged to Mr Chong Nam Soy, who joined Rollei in 1971 when he was 22 years old. The A26 is a single-speed camera that was made in Singapore. It was easy to use and meant for beginners. Mr Chong had bought the camera at a staff price of about $200, and he had used the camera for various family occasions. Mr Chong had just completed his studies in Production Engineering in Singapore Polytechnic when he came across Rollei's recruitment advertisement in the newspapers. He was trained as a craftsman in the assembly of shutters for various Rollei compact cameras.
