This distinct looking tin is for storing Farmer Brand peanuts, which is recognized as a Singapore Chinatwon heritage Brand. The tin bears the name of the company Mei Heong Yuen, one of the local leading food industries reputed for its traditional desserts. Originally these peanuts were produced Lee Chit Heng in Malaysia in the 1940s and he expanded his operations to Singapore in the 1950s. Now marketed byMei Heong Yuen, it has remained a popular snack item.
