This soy sauce dispenser bottle with the red cap bears the name of the popular Japanese brand Kikkoman. A very old name in food industry, the company also has plants all over the world including Singapore - this bottle has the name of the local plant at Senoko Crescent. Kikko means tortoise shell and man means 10,000 - both together symbolizes longevity. The Kikkoman logo uses a pictorial device that combines the chinese word, wan, for 10,000 surrounded by a hexagon to depict the tortoise shell. This very ubiquitous bottle found in numerous restaraunts and eateries was designed by the Japanese industrial designer, Kenjie Ekuan in 1961. He is also known to have desinged high-speed trains and motor cycles.
