Pepsi is a carbonated soft drink manufactured by PepsiCo. It was first developed by Caleb Bradham in the 1880s in North Carolina. Introduced as Brad’s Drink, it was renamed Pepsi-Cola in 1898 and trademarked in 1903. It has two key elements: pepsin, a digestive enzyme and kola nuts. Since Bradham’s time the logo and the history of bottling has changed. In 1958, Pepsi’s bottling changed from its 12 ounce standardized bottles, They adopted a new design known as the swirl and in keeping with their new logo. The present design was adopted in 1973. One of the most recognizable logos – the design is made of swirling red white and blue shaped as a globe. The colors a reference to its US origins. However one litre glass bottles were was slowly taken off the market when Pepsi introduced the first two litre plastic bottles in the 1970s.
