Imported into Singapore, this is a brand of powdered milk sold by Nestle. The dehydrated whole milk powder was first produced by Merrelle-Soule Company in New York in 1920 and then bought by Borden in 1927.Klim, which is Milk spelt backwards, proved to be very useful especially as Army rations and was distributed by the Red Cross worldwide. Not only was it nourishing, but the powder kept for a long time without spoiling. Given that the Klim tins were big, the metal is said to have been converted into various useful objects by soldiers. The tin here has the well-known logo of Elsie the Cow which was created in 1939 by the team led by David William Reid. He is also credited with designing Elsie’s partner, Elmer the bull.who is now the icon for Elmer’s glue.
