This route map reflects the early international flight destinations served by Singapore Airlines. Singapore Airlines was inaugurated in 1972 after the separation of Malaysia-Singapore Airlines (MSA). The predecessor of Malaysia-Singapore Airlines was Malaysian Airways Limited, which was named as such to commemorate the formation of the Federation of Malaysia in 1963.
