This is one of the many postcards produced by S Abdul Majeed & Co. who was responsible for postcards depicting various places of interest in Singapore as well as different parts of Malaysia. The merlion symbol on the top right corner of the reverse side of the postcard suggests that this postcard was printed after 1966, as the symbol was registered as a Singapore Tourist Promotion Board (STPB) trademark in 1966. Other than the merlion symbol, the coconut tree (representative of Southeast Asia and the tropics), and an outline of the island of Singapore on this postcards reiterate the location of the Hindu temple. According to the back of the postcard, Singapore's Indian population was about 10% of the total population.
