Published in Singapore in June 1964, this 60cents Chinese textbook could have been used in primary schools with English language as the main medium of instruction. This copy was priced at 60cents and was used in the second half of 1964. It featured local/Malayan personalities like Yap Ah Loy and Abdullah, thus indicating the curriculum shift from a mainland Chinese one to Nanyang, then to Malayan, while at the same time, acknowledging the racial mix in Malaya.
