This is a small paper bag advertising the Chinese Empoirum. Along with other departmental stores, this Emporium also played a mjaor role in creating hihgly visoible spaces of coumerism and lesiure. The Chinese Emporium opened on the first floor of the International Building on Orchard Road in 1967. It occupied 39,370 sq. meters.Operating on second and third floors, it moved out due to high rentals in 1989. The International building was among the first high-rises along Orchard Road, built in 1966. It was upgraded under the DP Consultants in 1982
