This silk robe has a v-shaped opening for the head. Its collar is enclosed by a quatrefoil of scrolling chrysanthemums and hibiscus motif. This cloud cover design, also known as the auspicious ruiyi fungus motif, resembles 18th century Qing dynasty robe designs. The floral motif is repeated on the edges of the sleeves. Peacocks interspersed among flowers are printed on both the front and back of the robe. The peacock is a symbol of beauty of dignity in Chinese culture.
