This poster advertised the British Empire Exhibition of April-October 1924. It presents a colourful scene of a busy Asian road in front of a pagoda, which is most likely meant to represent Hong Kong. Of the 58 countries that made up the British Empire, 56 took part. The exhibition was the largest and most ambitious ever staged in the world at the time. This poster is part of a series by the Welsh artist, Gerald Spencer Pryse (1882-1956) who was commissioned to produce a series of posters for the exhibition.
