This WWII poster depicts different aircraft insignia identification markings with various types of military planes flying over a cloudy grey sky. The poster was commissioned by the US army as an aircraft recognition chart for use in basic army training. The air craft represented include a Fokker, B24, Stirling, Hurricane, Messerschmitt and Mitsubishi (among others) surrounded by a colourful border of aircraft insignia, including the British Empire, France, Germany, Japan, Russia and the United States. It was prepared and distributed by Army Orientation Course, Special Service Division Army Service Forces, War Dept., Pentagon, Washington. D.C.
