Gosh, we are fucked is one from a number of graphite on paper drawings that were featured in the Lovers + Dead Ones exhibition held at the Chulalongkorn University gallery in 2016. Rendered in an almost automatic fashion, the hastily drawn images exemplify art as a means of cathartic release. The images portrayed stem from the recurring dreams Dusadee has of his deceased brother, whose passing has affected Dusadee deeply. The personal story behind this work is also the impetus for the making of the sculptural piece He was out there all alone riding the monsoon waves like a champ later on – revolving around a holiday surfing trip to Phuket during the monsoon season.
