Kimono

A kimono is a long, loose robe worn with a sash, also known as an obi. The term ‘kimono’ is an abbreviation of the word kirumono which literally means “thing to wear”. A kimonos is cut from a single roll of cloth, and variations in its construction indicate if it is meant for a man or woman. The fabric and decoration on a kimono also often reveal the status of its wearer.
