This lithograph based on an original work by French watercolourist and draightsman Louis Auguste de Sainson, which he produced while part of the expedition of the Astrolabe led by Jules D'Urville between 1826 and 1829. It depicts the facial profiles of the various ethnic communities residing in the Moluccas.
