Zouk club at Jiak Kim Street had four signature zones which played different music to cater to different tastes: Zouk, Phuture, Velvet Underground and the Wine Bar. Phuture was opened in December 1996 as a more avant-garde bar that featured non-mainstream music such as hip hop, R&B and urban music. Located deep within the interior of the Zouk nightclub complex, Phuture was characterised by its vibrant colours, futuristic design and impressive LED wall. This chair was custom-designed for Zouk’s Phuture outlet by interior designer Philips Connor. As the objective of the design was the promote community spirit, the size of the chair allows five people to sit and chat with one another.
