This main Zouk signage was displayed on the façade of one of the three restored godowns at Jiak Kim Street which the nightclub occupied for 25 years until its relocation to Clarke Quay’s Cannery Block at the end of 2016. The name Zouk was derived from a French-Caribbean term for village party, reflecting the club’s vision as a place where people can go to have fun. From its inception in 1991, Zouk became a well-known and award-winning night club that placed Singapore on the international clubbing circuit. In September 2015, Zouk was sold to Genting Hong Kong and the nightclub hosted its last party at its Jiak Kim Street premises on December 3 2016.
