This pen and coloured ink Christmas card is from 1944. It depicts a Changi inmate at a camp fire. The card illustrates P.O.Ws’ efforts in maintaining their spirits and traditions in spite of the conditions they lived in. This artefact is part of the archive of James Steele, Royal Artillery (Field) who served in Malaya from January 1941-February 1942, when interned as a P.O.W at Changi until his release in October 1945.
