This is a wedding gown designed by Singapore-born Benny Ong. Ong was well-known for his designer cocktail and evening wear from the 1970s to 1990s. The early collections of Ong were sold at Harrods and Selfridges, two of London’s most reputable departmental stores. Ong is one of the pioneer Singapore-born designers known for dressing royalty such as the late Princess Diana and for establishing his brand in London. This dress was bought from Harrods in 1977 and wore by the donor, Claire Buske for her wedding in Canada in the same year.
