The American Plastics corporation, Aurora Products Corporation Asia Pte Ltd, produced slot cars from 1974-1983 such as the ones features in this box. Its main factory opened on 31 March 1977 and manufactured a wide range of quality electric toy-racing cars for the world market (primarily USA, Europe and Australia). These electric toy cars, also known as slot cars, ran on a track with grooves or slots that guided the cars. Primarily slot cars were used in the competitive hobby of slot car racing. Typically modelled on actual racing automobiles, slot cars share a relationship with popular interest in racing and have been featured at F1 events since 2010 in Singapore.
