A pair of slipper faces is drawn on this piece of counted thread canvas, which depicts a lush pattern of vegetation. The bold lines suggest that the drawing was executed by an experienced hand. Characterised by evenly spaced warp and weft, counted thread canvas was used to adapt designs originally made for silk embroidery for beadwork.The acquisition contains numerous examples of templates, patterns and tools embroiderers used in the making of beadwork pieces.
