Known as a baju peiki or baju shanghai, this long-sleeved jacket with a mandarin collar lined with lace and frog buttons is made from a richly patterned green silk fabric and thickly lined on the inside. Its hem and cuffs are formed by a single row of pleats. The matching skirt or koon is made using the same material and techniques. The cotton baju peiki could have been paired with batik sarong in less formal occasions. It is part of a donation which contains a mixture of garments worn by Peranakan men and women.
