Fabric Panel with Kebaya Design and Embroidery

This panel of muslin fabric shows a sketched design of scalloped border with floral details, a segment of which has been embroidered with ivory coloured thread. This embroidered panel may have been intended for a kebaya with tapered ends. These kebayas were popular in the 1930s and many were commissioned by Peranakan women. It is part of a donation which contains a mixture of garments worn by Peranakan men and women.
