This foliate rimmed bowls has the typical five bands of Qoranic script in black ink, alternating with red chain pattern interlinked with crosses, typical of 18th century porcelain healing bowls. The magic square at the centre and the Arabic phrases were believed to ward off disease thus promoting the use of these objects as healing bowls
