The telephone directory published in July 1965 provides a comprehensive listing of contact information for businesses and individuals' residential listings. However with effect from 1 April 2014, telecom companies no longer need to provide residential listings in the directories though business listings will remain mandatory. This artefact was part of the selection in the time capsule buried in 1990 by then DPM Ong Teng Cheong to celebrate Singapore’s 50th anniversary of independence in 2015.
