A box set containing 1 Motorola handphone, 1 adapter, 2 batteries, 1 handphone pouch, 1 handphone dock, and 1 instruction manual

The cell phone was introduced only in Aug 1988 and it was considerably large and bulky back then in the 1990s. While the traditional cell phone only allows user to send and receive voice communications, cell phones today (also known as smart phones) are equipped with customized software, Internet access, digital cameras, portable music players, GPS functions and many more options. This artefact was part of the selection in the time capsule buried in 1990 by then DPM Ong Teng Cheong to celebrate Singapore’s 50th anniversary of independence in 2015.
