This is a green soap dish with a pink rim and a twisted handle on its lid. Peonies decorate the body of the porcelain and it stands on four small legs. Grooves inside the base of the dish allow water to run off the soap and prevents the soap from sticking to the dish. The dish would likely be part of a collection of small porcelain jars and containers included in a Peranakan bride’s wedding trousseau.
