This is the programme for Centre 65’s performance of Dr Goh Poh Seng’s “When Smiles are Done”. Dr Goh was the founder of this amateur theatre company during the early days of the English theatre scene in post-independent Singapore. Centre 65 was an early theatre company whose members included Rosie Seow, mother of playwright Stella Kon. Stella Kon is an award-winning Singapore playwright whose most important work was the 1983 one-woman play, Emily of Emerald Hill. She is also a descendent of two prominent Peranakan philanthropists, Tan Tock Seng and Dr Lim Boon Keng
