This silver rattle or kiluki was used in the Chettiar community of Tamil Nadu. It is a traditional object that is given to a daughter as part of her dowry, in anticipation of the birth of a baby boy, for whom the rattle is intended.This finely crafted rattle has individual rings that rattle and turn as the object is held and moved around.
