This turban shows the application of two distinct forms of embroidery from north India, both of which use metal wires for their creation. The sides of the turban are embellished with the kamdani style of mukaish, which creates patterns using flat metal ribbons of varying width. The crown of the turban is embellished with kalabattu which is a finer, delicate embroidery using silver or gilt thread, held in place with other threads.
