This video cassette contains a recording of the film “Iron Fist in a Velvet Glove”, a university adaptation of the play Emily of Emerald Hill. Emily has inspired many adaptations over the years, both in Singapore and overseas. Stella Kon is an award-winning Singapore playwright whose most important work was the 1983 one-woman play, Emily of Emerald Hill. She is also a descendent of two prominent Peranakan philanthropists, Tan Tock Seng and Dr Lim Boon Keng.
