Chief Justice Sir Peter Benson Maxwell’s Personal Diary

This is the personal diary of the first Chief Justice of the Straits Settlements Sir Peter Benson Maxwell. It contains his writings and poems, as well as some botanical samples. The entries cover the years 1862 to 1878, which includes his tenure as Chief Justice in Singapore from 1867 to 1871. The diary was bound by Joseph Roberts, Bookseller at 2 Arabella Row, Pimlico.
